Today I am going to share an inspirational story about one of my friends named Rahul. He worked really hard to get his first job as a developer.

How I Cracked My First Frontend Job

I still remember the day I opened my first laptop with the goal of becoming a developer. I had no clear plan, no guidance, and honestly, I didn’t even know if I could do it. But I kept going anyway.

Introduction

My name is Rahul. I come from a normal background where coding was never discussed at home. I did my degree in BCA from a small college. During my final year, I realized I needed a skill that could help me get a job, not just a certificate.

That’s when I started exploring web development.

My Degree and Starting Point

I completed:

  • Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

But at that time:

  • I didn’t know HTML properly
  • I had never built a real website
  • I only had basic computer knowledge

Everything started from zero.

What I Learned (Tech Stack Journey)

Step 1: Basics

I started with:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

At first, it felt confusing. I spent days just understanding how a simple webpage works.

Step 2: Practice Projects

I built small things like:

  • To-do list
  • Simple calculator
  • Static portfolio page

These were ugly at first, but I kept improving them.

Step 3: Framework

After basics, I learned:

  • React

This was the turning point. I finally understood how real websites are built. I also learned:

  • Git & GitHub
  • API integration
  • Responsive design

Challenges I Faced

It was not easy, I have faced so many challenges, but I did it.

1. Confusion Everywhere

  • Every tutorial felt different. I didn’t know what to follow.

2. Motivation Drops

  • There were weeks when I felt like quitting. Nothing worked properly.

3. No Real Guidance

  • I didn’t have a mentor. I had to figure out everything myself.

4. Rejections

  • I applied for internships and got rejected many times.

Turning Point

Things changed when I stopped just watching tutorials and started building real projects.

I created:

  • A job listing website
  • A weather app using API
  • A simple e-commerce frontend

I uploaded everything on GitHub and built a small portfolio.

Getting My First Job

After months of practice, I finally got an interview for a frontend developer role.

They asked me:

  • Basic HTML/CSS questions
  • JavaScript logic
  • About my projects
  • React basics

I didn’t know everything, but I explained my projects clearly and honestly. That helped me more than anything else. Finally, I got selected as a junior frontend developer.

 What I Learned

  • Basics are everything
  • Projects matter more than certificates
  • Consistency beats talent
  • Rejection is part of the journey

Final Words

If you are just starting, do not wait for perfect knowledge. Start small, build projects, and keep improving. I was not the smartest student, but I stayed consistent, and that made the difference.
